ARTS-ACTIVISM is a unique approach to both creative expression and global activism. Lauren leads students (of all ages) through song-writing, poetry, drama, dance, and visual art that uses global issues as inspiration.
In the end groups end up with amazing art all of kinds which can be archived, shared, spread-online, and performed across the world.
Lauren has learned that giving kids the reason to apply their creative talents produces a profound, long-lasting, and impressive array of performances, songs, and writings, that share the work of global hunger, poverty, injustice, environmentalism, and more.
Lauren has lead major non-profits through this technique including Heifer International (see below), NetAid, National Association of Independant Schools, and more.
Workshops can be anywhere from two hours to three weeks; and can take place at offices, schools, theatres, camps, or more.
These workshops are wonderful teambuilders, mission builders, creative outlets, inspirational connectivity, productive ensemble building, and exploration of issues.
Below are pictures from 2005 Llama Drama, an example of two-week Arts Activism lead by Lauren.

Lauren developed and directed this program during the summer of 2005 with global non-profit Heifer International. It is designed to lead a national effort combining arts and activism for high school students using Heifer's themes and goals as a focus. 15 high school students across the
nation put their writing, acting, dancing, singing and musical talents to use in creating a world-premier production focusing on social activism.
It proved to be an incredible opportunity for young artists who wanted to hone their craft and use their art to influence the world.
